Episode 1 introduces us to Ana at the very beginning of her life. From the earliest moments, there are signs that something about Ana is different — signs that the people around her notice but cannot fully explain.

This episode sets the foundation for everything that comes after. It captures the hope of a new life alongside the quiet uncertainty that would grow into a sixteen-year search for answers.

Why We Created The Invisible Disease

We created The Invisible Disease because story is one of the most powerful tools for building understanding and compassion. Statistics about EDS—the fifteen-year diagnostic delay, the one in five thousand prevalence, the dozens of symptoms—matter. But the story of a person living through those statistics is what truly changes hearts and minds.

Ana’s story is based on real experiences. Experiences that millions of people with EDS and their families have lived. The hope is that through Ana’s journey, viewers will see themselves reflected—and that the people in their lives will begin to understand what EDS truly means.
